How to save money and get freebies weekly

I have always been one to save money, make money and get freebies whenever I can. So I thought I would share with you exactly how I do it and how you can too.

Cashback sites

A cashback site is where get cash back on the things you would normally buy online anyway.  All you need to do is go on the cashback site before you buy anything.

I have been a member of cashback sites for over 8 years now, over that time I have had £1438.21 back on Topcashback and £227.45 from Quidco, there are many more cashback sites bit these are my favourite.

Here is how you can start making money back on your purchases today:

  1. Before you buy anything online visit the cashback site, sometimes, one offers more cashback than other so its good to compare first. I have found that topcashback usually offers the most though.
  2. Search for the company you will be buying from for example Superdrug, Asos, Asda.
  3. Click on the retailer where you are buying your item from, it then takes you to their site and you buy as normal.
  4. Thats it! Simple, a few weeks later after processing you received a small percent of your purchase back.

It can also be used for things like holidays, airport parking, car and home insurance, new mobile phone contracts. practically anything you buy online. You can earn £100 plus on things like sky tv and virgin.

Here are the website links, If you use the Quidco one you will earn £5 and so will I, win win!

Money and freebies for your weekly shop

There are lots of phone apps out there where you can get save money by getting cash back on your food shopping. These are a little different to the above as you physically go in to the store rather than buy online.

You select the supermarket your going to do your weekly shop at and it will show you the cashback offers available there. You buy the item then upload the receipt on the app.

Sometimes it will give you the full amount back for a product making it absolutely free.

All you need to do is make sure your buying the correct products, including size and flavour and keep your receipt and hey presto, you get the cash in you account within a few days! How easy is that!

My top apps I use are:

Checkoutsmart

Shopmium (use this link to geta free jar of Nutella using code eh4gu )

Greenjinn

ClickSnap

Freebies through you letter box

There are many ways you can get little freebies sent to your door, I usually get a few a week. They are great as a little midweek pick-me-up.

You may be sceptical about giving out your details however most of the freebies are from the big, well-known companies themselves. I don’t get no junk mail through the door but do get emails with offers on which you can easily unsubscribe to.

There are websites which show what freebies are currently on but I forget to look at these, so I joined their Facebook groups and changed the settings so I get a notification each time there is a new post. Here the ones I use:

Magic Freebies

Wow Free Stuff

Freebies and SP finds

These are some of the freebies I have received over the past month. I have also has some hair conditioner and perfume samples and sanitary products.

So there you go 3 simple ways to save money!

Do you have any tips on how you save money? Let me know in the comments below

  1. This is a great post thanks! We try to use cashback sites like Quidco but I’ve never heard about the apps to use for your weekly food shop! Thanks, great tip, I’ll have a look at the apps! X

  2. Fantastic tips there! I would never have thought of getting cash back, I must check out some of the sites. I’m pretty frugal and I do use coupons a lot but it’s always great to get some new money saving ideas 🙂

    1. It really does, I wish I had kept the balance in and cashed it out as a lump sum! I would be writing this on a beach if I did

    1. They are so easy to use. I think most people are put of as you only get around 3% or something back, but it soon adds up 🙂

  3. Wow loving this post, super useful! I use cashback sites a lot but I hadn’t heard of these apps! Going to download them tonight, anything that helps save or make a little money it worth it

  4. Woah, I’m seriously missing out! We don’t do any of these and really need to save money. Will definitely be looking into the cash back sites xx

  5. I’ve never used any of these sites before but they sound great! I think I may have signed up to quidco before but didn’t actually use it, but I should probably give it a go seeing how much you’ve made! Thanks for the tips

  6. I am not sure these sites are available in France where I live but I have signed up to a scheme in my local supermarket where I get 10% back on any of their own brand pet food I buy – and with 3 cats and 2 large dogs that adds up quite quickly. I was already buying the brands anyway so it made sense but I am careful to check out any offers before buying to ensure there is not another brand that is cheaper anyway and try not to be sucked into buying something just because it is of offer.
